Folding and setting up after delivery
1.
Unpacking from the protective foil
Unwrap the bicycle from the packaging material. Place it back in the box for possible future return or exchange of the bicycle.
2.
Mounting of the handlebar clamp
Loosen the four screws on the stem anticlockwise and remove the front of the stem.
3.
Mounting the handlebars
Insert the handlebars, fit the stem and tighten clockwise using the 4 screws.
4.
Installing the quick-release axle on the front wheel
First, check which direction the front wheel should rotate. The tire usually has an arrow indicating the rotation direction, marked “Direction =>”. Turn the wheel so that the arrow points forward in the direction of travel of the bicycle.
Unscrew the end nut from the skewer and remove one spring. The other spring remains on the side with the quick-release lever.
Insert the skewer through the center of the front wheel so that the quick-release lever is on the left side of the wheel when looking in the direction of travel.
Place the spring onto the other side of the skewer and then screw on the end nut.
The springs must be positioned with the narrower end facing the wheel.
Tighten the nut only enough so that the skewer stays in the wheel, but the wheel can still be easily installed into the front fork of the bicycle.
5.
Installing the wheel into the front fork
Before installing the wheel, the V-brake must be released so that there is enough space between the brake pads to insert the wheel. Remove and keep the transport cap from the front fork.
Place the front wheel into the dropouts of the front fork. Check that the axle is correctly seated on both sides of the fork and that the wheel is straight.
The wheel must be centered between the fork legs. Spin the wheel and check that it rotates freely and does not rub anywhere.
Tighten the quick-release. Tighten the nut on the right side so that the quick-release lever closes with noticeable resistance. The lever must secure the wheel firmly, but it should not require excessive force to close.
Close the quick-release lever. Close the lever towards the fork so that it does not interfere while riding and is not pointing forwards. Once closed, the wheel must be firmly secured in the fork.
After securing the wheel, do not forget to reconnect the V-brake. Check that the brake pads are correctly aligned with the rim.
Check that the wheel rotates freely, the quick-release is firmly closed, and the front brake works properly.
6.
Mounting the pedals
Mount the pedals on the bike. The right one (marked R) retracts clockwise but the left one (marked L) has the opposite thread and needs to be pulled counterclockwise.
